Wigs Should Look Natural, And That's What We Do.
At Off 5th Avenue, my specialty is duplicating your exact hair style, texture and color, to match your wig while giving you the privacy needed to attain the look you want. Losing your hair, and going through hair replacement, isn't easy to cope with and it takes some adjustment. At Off 5th Avenue Salon, we understand this very emotional situation, and welcome the opportunity to help you with your hair treatment. We also know that your privacy is very important and it starts when you walk in our door.
A wig needs to look and feel natural. We use natural hair to give you your old, or new, look. I have over 30 years of experience with hair cutting, coloring and shaping to make you look your best in your new wig.
Our Process:
Your wig should fit perfectly and should accent your face and personality. We have you come in for your appointment to see what works best for you, we don't just blindly order your wig and hand it off. Here are the steps to your wig process:
1. Wig consultation & any other suggestions: We will educate you on all the options available whether it be a human hair or synthetic prosthesis. Some people choose to cover their heads with a hat, scarf, or turban; others prefer to replace their hair. Fake-looking wigs are a thing of the past as technology has advanced considerably and you can now look the way you prefer. Cancer hair treatments such as hair prostheses are the latest technological advances in replacing the loss of hair. Whether you are experiencing chemotherapy hair loss, or loss of hair during radiation, Off 5th Avenue will meet your specific hair replacement needs.
2. Ordering of the wig
3. Wig fitting: We will form fit the wig to become part of you, and design it to be styled as if it was your own hair. The front of the wig base is a french lace, which gives the appearance of the hair coming directly out of the scalp; No old fashioned wig look. By obtaining a wig prior to treatment, it enables me to duplicate your hair color, texture and style. No one needs to know you lost your hair.
4. Finished!
Note: A wig may also be a tax deductible medical expense, and is usually covered by insurance.
